The MoU is the culmination of efforts to build a mutually rewarding and sustainable partnership in student mobility, research and faculty development. “In today’s interconnected and globalised world, it is necessary to provide students with alternative pathways to education and learning, so that they can leverage the exciting career prospects offered by companies the world over”, said Prof Prabir K Bagchi, Vice Chancellor of SRM University.

At the core of the collaboration is a new and innovative pathway for SRM students to gain access to higher education in GWU, after completing their under graduate studies. By taking a few courses in their final year of their undergraduate programme, the students will transfer to a one year master’s programme at GWU, and thus save time and resources in acquiring a qualification and thereby putting them on par with other full time international students. In this process they will be able to access the provisions of career advancement provided under schemes such as OCT. The programme will directly benefit students studying in the IT technology areas, Mechatronics and Nanotechnology.

Signing the MoU were Dr. Douglas Shaw, Associate Provost for International Strategy and Professor at the Elliott School of International Affairs at GWU and Prof Sethuraman, Registrar, SRM University in the presence of Prof Bagchi and other officials from both institutions.
